If you are a skilled worker but do not have an employer who can sponsor you for a visa, you can apply for one of the skilled visas described below.
Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 491)

Be in or outside Australia

Be aged under 45 years

Submit an expression of interest

Be nominated by a State or Territory government

Have an occupation on the relevant Skilled Occupation List

Have a positive skills assessment

Score at least 65 points on the points test

Meet minimum standard of English language proficiency

Be invited to apply
Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189)

Be in or outside Australia

Be aged under 45 years
-
Submit an expression of interest

Have an occupation on the relevant Skilled Occupation List

Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190)
